And Yet...

"Forgive them, Father, for they know not what they do." (Luke 23:34 KJV)
Good morning, y'all. Even when, we have been devastated by the cruelty of our fellow man, no matter what form the cruelty may come in, we have to, as His children, be willing to forgive. Is it easy? No! But the need is there for us to forgive because we are aiming to please Him in hopes of going to a better place. Somebody might say, but I will never forgive them for what they have done to me, never!
How easy it is to utter what we think is the finality of those words. But God, for our sakes, forgave what was done to His Son. Sometimes, living this life as His child means forgiving people for the intentional wrongs and plotting that they have done to or against you. Jesus forgave the wrongs done to Him. We are the Lord's children and therefore it behooves us to show the characteristics of His love. We say we belong to Him, then we have to show that we do.
Remember that He didn't say that it would be easy (1 Peter 4:12 KJV), but He said that it would be worth it (1 Corinthians 2:9 KJV). In other words, we have to take some of the things that we take because we love Him. When we do, His glory shines forth through us and we add another plank or brick to our heavenly abode.

One Day

One day
No more death
No more enemies
No more sorrow
No more pain
Will be
For the former things have passed away
So if you see someone skipping past
When you get to your new home
It will just be me.

This old ship of Zion is going home...
