A Dream, Huh?

A Dream

So, Joseph, you have been given a dream

That people don’t understand

Just you keep that dream within your mind

One day, you will hold that dream within your hand.

When the LORD decides to use a person

Often that person does not know

Why the insistent force within them

Keeps them on the go and drives them so.

But if they hold on to that dream

That will not let them go

They will one day be able to say

“You see; I told you so!”

Joseph had a dream and he explained it to his brothers. Then he had another dream and he explained it to them and to his father as well. He was ridiculed and belittled and made to feel small. Yet, his father held those dreams within himself.

If the LORD gives you a dream, though it might make people’s resentment of you cause you to suffer, it does not make the certainty of the dream less so!

But Joseph just kept on being

Himself and living day to day.

The LORD used his brothers’ jealousy

To send him on his way.

So, hold on to your dream

Let come what may

For you will come out a winner

At the end of the day!

Aside - Have I ever held a dream within my heart? Yes, several, as a matter of fact. Have they all come to fruition? No, but enough of them have that I no longer sweat it. I still hold those dreams within my heart, go over them from time to time, yet continue living from day to day. You see, as I told you before, I believe in ultimately!
