It's Not Easy, Is It?

It's not easy, is it? (Life, I mean) Well, news flash! It's not supposed to be. What is supposed to happen is that we do our living until our living is through and our dying until it is done. During that time span, we are supposed to keep in our minds, the love of Jesus and the fact that our sojourn here is a temporary one.

We have to live our entire lives in faith. We have faith in something , even if it's in an old broom. We keep that broom around because we believe that it will come in handy sometime during the day. The elderly  of years gone by used to use that broom for many different things, whether it was to shoo chickens out of a place they were not wanted, rid the yard of a slithering snake, beat the dog back from attacking any visitors that might come calling, etc. They knew that that broom could do many things because it had stood the test of time and tale-telling. Uhm-hum. Well, our faith should be the same way. "How so?" you ask. Good question and I'm glad you asked it.

We have had Bible stories read to us from the time that we were knee high. Stories of how Abraham's faith was imputed to him for righteousness; of how Sarah conceived and bear a son long after she had passed child-bearing years; of how a little bitty boy slew a giant of a man; about how a mother's love caused her to hide her baby from the executioner's axe, etc. All of the stories (and there are many more) helped to lay a foundation of faith and wonder in us.  We also have had stories told to us by our parents, grandparents uncles, etc. of how it pays to serve the LORD because HE will come to see about HIS children.

Then there is our testimony. If you have been living any length of time at all, you know what it is to pray, ask for prayer and/or have your prayers answered with a yes. We have to help to lay a faith foundation for today's youth just as one was laid for us. We have to share those stories of faith to give our young folks something to hang onto when we are gone.

Be blessed and BYDWP.

Doing What I Can, While I Can

Aside - The broom though handy, will wear out in time, but the love of Jesus is the same yesterday, today, tomorrow and forevermore. I'm standing on my faith and waiting on Jesus. You too?
