All of the Glory Belongs to My God (Part 1)

Good Monday morning. As I said on yesterday, I am going to take the next four days discussing the high points of the lesson that I did on Saturday concerning storms in a Christian's life. Let's get to it, shall we?
Here is the visual aid that I used for Part 1.

  1. Psalm 104:9 and Job 38:10-11 both talk about the limit that the Lord has placed upon the sea. Verse 9 in Psalm 104, among others, talks about the Lord's care over His works, of which we are chief.  Genesis 9:11 and Isaiah 54:9 say that the waters shall never again take all life from the earth. So, His love for us holds the waters in check. When I see the ocean and hear its roaring waves or the gentle ripple that runs up to the shore to be pulled back into the sea again, I am reminded of His love for me. The next time that you get the opportunity to go to the ocean, take a moment to pause and thank the Lord of Creation for being mindful of us and holding the waters back behind that invisible line.
  2. In point two I reminded the ladies that the very hairs of our heads are numbered.  And we are reminded of His care for the sparrows in that not one of them falls to the earth without the Lord being aware of it. We then are told that we are of much more value than many sparrows. This is another one of God's declaration of love for us and assurances to us.
  3. See numeral 2.
  4. His eyes are always over us, (the righteous) so we need not fear, just to call on Him in faith.
  5. I called their attention to the scripture that says that "If we know how to give good gifts to our children, how much more does our Father in heaven." Here again, He is showing us and reminding us of His love for us.
  6. In this point, I reminded them of the point that I had made in the introduction that the Lord has plans for us, in fact, had plans before we were born. I reminded them to carry that knowledge with them through any trial or storm that life throws their way.
  7. The last point that I made in this section of the lesson was to explain Hebrews 4:16 to them. In this scripture, we are told to bring our cares and concerns to the Lord and to be assured that we will receive help and tender care from Him because He loves us.
That is the gist of what I told them about the love that the Lord has for us. ( more on this treatise, in my book, Chopping My Row.)

Shows His Love

When the sea hits the shore
And flows back into the waters
From which the currents came
I am reminded of His love for me
And the presence of the sparrow does the same.

When the hairs of my head
Thin and begin to shed
I am reminded that He keeps a count
Of them and knows the exact amount.

He knows when I am troubled or elated
Because He is my Father and is concerned
About His child and all things related.

Never forget that because of His love for us, He sees, He knows, and He cares.
