Time Worn/Duty Born

Good morning. Are you doing well? Good, if you are and sorry if you are not. Don't forget to begin your day with prayer for you will find a listening Lord waiting for you there. Whether you give Him praise or whether you have a request, your voice to Him you should always raise. If you cultivate and nourish that relationship with Him, then it will always be intact regardless of which situation you are thrown into. Speaking of situations, here is a little poem that I wrote for you this morning.

Have you ever been in a situation where
You don't cause the problems but the proverbial
They always look to you to solve them?

That may have happened to you, time and time again
And just like a puppy that has been kicked
Because of duty, you take the situation in hand
And do your best to try to make amends.

The oldest sibling in the family often has this to do
But sometimes the job falls to the youngest sibling, too
And teachers and  preachers wives, let's not forget about you
Because as guardians of a particular flock
You must watch situations unfold and figure out who
Did what to whom and how to formulate and orchestrate
A plan where each one gets his due
Being mindful of fragile egos and precious souls
Whether they belong to Big Mouth Bob, Strife Stirring Nellie
Or to Timid And Often Picked On Sue
Because cleaning up and teaching a learning lesson is your goal.

Have you ever been in a situation where
You don't cause the problems but the proverbial
They always look to you to solve them?

But wait, the proverbial they will have to find another way
Because you have been moved to a place where
The shenanigans of that flock no longer concern you
And you are doing your duty over there.

Doing What I Can, While I Can Because I Care

Blog P. S. - Don't forget that for all of the good that you do there is a just and fitting reward waiting on you.

For Pondering

  1. Why is this blog piece entitled as it is?
