Sometime, you have to smile through tears, but you manage to keep smiling. You see; there are people who may not be able to weather a storm as well as they imagine that you might. People often look at you from the outside because that is the only view that they have. But you, you know the whole story and that is why sometimes it amazes you when people seem to look up to you as a pattern to go by. That fact is indeed daunting but we have to remember that the apostle Paul said, "Follow me as I follow Christ." And Jesus, Himself said, "If I be lifted up from the earth, I will draw all men unto me." In other words, you have to show people how it is done sometimes. And you do it all for the love of the Lord.
Smiling Because You
Dare
That there is this
thing about smiling
That gets the world’s
attention
Because it makes
happy people happier
Some unhappy people
angrier
Other unhappy people tremulous with hope
Is a fact that needs
to be mentioned.
Happy people will be
glad to see you coming
With that bright
smile upon your face
And hopeful unhappy
people will try to nudge
You on to help you
keep your smile intact
But oh, the angry unhappy
person is
A mighty force with
which to have to deal
For they will try to wreck
your smile if they can
So that you mirror
their misery
In the way that you
feel.
But you keep that
smile pasted on your face
Even when tears dare
to swim in your eyes
For your having the
courage to forage on
Will help some other
folks during their
Time of sorrow and/or
their time of sighs.
That smile will keep
you reaching for the day
When tears no longer
grace your eyes
And the wattage of
your smile is shining
So, that it is bolder
than it’s ever been
And declares to the
world, “Been there
Done that,” and, by
God’s grace, I’m still, okay!”
