Cont. Of "Say What?!"

Sorry about that. Sometimes the best intentions go awry. There again, life got in the way!

In our last blogging session, we were  attempting to deal  a little bit with death and dying. "I have a feeling; wait before buying; just lying down and sleeping away would be a good way; while preaching;  on my way to worship, etc.", are all comments that would give most people cause to wonder, and/or ponder.  Then there is a fine grain of reassurance in those phrases as well. Why, well because the fact that the departed one seemed to know, or at least seemed to sense, that a change of habitation was about to take place,  makes you feel that they, because of their foreknowledge, had love for you still and that they wanted to lessen the shock for you. Be that as it may, it is definite that we have to leave this world. We just don't know when and we don't know where.

That brings me to two points that I want you to think about:
  1. Take the time out of your busy schedule to love your loved ones and somebody else today, for tomorrow is not promised. If you take that time to give love to your loved ones, then the passing, though hard, will be more bearable because you will have done all that you could to love long and laugh hard with them. If you take the time to love somebody else, you will have taken a further step toward "Making your calling and election sure."
  2. That last sentence leads me into my second and final point. When time meets eternity for us, we are going to meet with the FATHER. HE will either welcome us or shun us. How HE receives us depends upon the life that we have lived before HIM down here. So it be hooves us to, Do the best we can, while we can. If we do that, then we will be assured of a joyous welcome from our FATHER in a land that we cannot imagine, where death reigns no more! We can always say, "Howdy!" and never "Goodbye!" Now that is something to reassure us and gladden our hearts.  Just think; we get to walk into the arms of our FATHER and have HIM personally wipe all of our tears away!
And with those words, I bid you adieu!

Until we meet...
