Whose Turn?

When Death visits an extended family
It seems it doesn't stop at one
It seems to take one or two more
Before his visit is done.

When he visits a community
It seems that the deaths happen in three's
At least that is what the old folks say
It could be the neighbor down the street
Or it could be you or me.

One thing about his visit though
Is that we are all assured of a turn
No discrimination here
So let's be ready at all costs...
For I never did even like
The feel of an earthly burn

So, I say just get our lives together
And for our journey, be prepared
This is one unexpected trip for
Which we, fellowman, do not
Want to be taken unawares.
Just sayin'...

1. To ponder: And what did you say brimstone was?
2. The tree of life?

Until next we meet...
