Oh No, the Holidays!

The loss of a loved one is always hard, but the holidays seem to bring the pain back again as fresh as ever. To all of you who have lost a dear loved one, whether recently or a while back, I extend my sincere condolences. Two families that I know have had to bury one of their parents and my heart goes out to them. To them and to the rest that have experienced such a lost and are having a hard time dealing with it,  I offer these words of comfort.

Let them go; give their spirit release
For in doing so, you will begin your healing
And your pain will start to ease.

When your thoughts turn to them
As they most assuredly will
Dwell on the happy times
Times of family gatherings and laughter
Then a new camaraderie will begin to emerge
And you and your family will find the ease
That you, since their leaving, have been after.

Remember the best things that
They always tried to instill in you
Latch on to that memory
And, for them, do what you need to do.

You will find that if you take
HIS hand and follow with childlike trust
That a "Peace that surpasses all understanding"
Will wrap you up in its arms
And that lingering pain will
At long last be released.

Until next we meet...
