Sometimes I hurt
Sometimes I sigh
And still at other times
I have to cry
Yet, I know there is sweet relief
In the land of by and by.
Still, I must keep holding on
While trying to show my fellowman
How to be strong
By leaning on the Lord
No matter how long
It may seem to be
For I know that He
Will rescue, ultimately.

Appreciate
That I am an average person is not
Something you can look at and decide
Because I have been in the lion’s den
Made my trek through the fiery furnace
And have been tossed by life’s swelling tide.
Come on; sit a spell and I will relate to you
How I made it over and how the
GOD of heaven brought me through.
Just let me tell you about being between
A rock and a hard place
Let me tell you about some of the heartaches
That I have had to face.
Oh, you don’t have time to talk
You have to go to a meeting in town
Sure I understand that you are busy
But please, take a minute and do sit down
Because the time may come when you need
To talk and I may not be around.
I want you to know the road I’ve traveled
I want you to know where I have been
In case you get into hot water one day
And need some tried and true problem solving
Counsel from a well-meaning friend.
…In short, you cannot appreciate my glory
If you don’t know the hills
And mountains that make up my story.

Forgotten My Name
Joy has forgotten my name
And peace has lost my address
I feel lost and bereft, folks
I must confess.
Nevertheless, I keep putting one foot
In front of the other
As I make my way homeward
In hopes of seeing missed loved ones
And yes, most of all, my dear mother.
Yet, a resounding voice says to me, “Not yet
There are other tasks set for you
The goals of which you have not met.”
“Just keep your faith and don’t waiver
In your zeal to do as bidden for me
And remember, I am by your side
And, know that I love you and
Be assured that you have not lost favor.”
Heb. 4:15-16

GOD Specializes
When you come to the river that seems
To be uncrossable and you pray and you pray
And it seems there is no hope for you
You ever think that GOD is saying, “No
You stay on this side of the river
I have other work for you to do”
Did you ever stop to think that HE is saying
“Don’t worry about the mountain and
The valley that you go through
Just remember that I am GOD
And that I have plans for you.”
Jeremiah 29:11

Gamut
You
can run through the gamut of your emotions in a given day
But
you always need to remember to hold on
To
Jesus, Who, always makes a way.
You
cannot put Him on your frame of time
You
have to remember that He is the Lord
And
He works things out according to
Whatever
is on His mind.

Touchdown
To
feel like you can’t take another disappointment
To
be afraid to hope for fear of being
Trampled
of having those hopes dashed
Is
to live life on the fringes and not
Get
past the place where your world once crashed.
So,
go enjoy all of the hope and possibilities that
Are
yours for the taking, if only to be scooped
Up
in the wonderful world of imagination.
Disappointments
come and disappointments go
But
to walk in the misty light of maybe
Has caused many a person to step out on chance
And
later to be victorious and able to do
The
end zone touchdown dance.
Philippians
1:12
