September 21, Faith Lesson

Good morning all of you! Grab that eye-opening coffee, juice or whatever your morning beverage of choice is!
You know; it is so wonderful to begin a new day, isn't it? It is like a seemingly blank canvas that has already been painted that needs a certain sum-summ-n for the picture to emerge. (You know, like those preprinted water color pictures where you simply brush on water and the picture slowly emerges.) Yep, there goes that surprise element again... Will wonders never cease? I mean, I have been living with myself all of these years and yet, my newly discovered liking for surprises  is very real.

I wonder what surprises this day shall reveal.
Will it make me cry or will it make me squeal
Are there any special care pkgs to be found
This day, this day awaits my sorrow or my joy
Yet, I'll handle whatever comes my way
Because I have learned the tenets of faith
To employ.

As you begin your day don't forget to pray.

Let me hop up and feed the family and I'll be right back...  Don't forget we will discuss what Momma told Gina when she pulled her aside to talk with her the next morning.

The next day, which was Saturday,  after the chores had been done and after Gina thought that Momma had forgotten what she had said to her the night before, Momma said, “Gina, pull up a chair; Momma wants to talk to you.” Gina knew this was very serious because every time Momma used that phrase, something real serious had happened or was about to happen. The last time Momma had used the phrase, “Momma wants to talk to you”, it was to tell her that their favorite uncle had died. Gina took a big gulp, pulled out a chair from the kitchen table and sat down next to Momma in front of the kitchen stove.

Gina made sure to put on her most serious face. Momma said, “Gina, you are not a baby anymore and I have been thinking about when to have this talk with you. You always did think way older than you are and so I have to tell you that, no, there are no magic beanstalks. But there is something better than that.”
“Better than magic beanstalks!”, squeaked Gina on a sigh.
“Yes, baby, better than magic beanstalks.”
“What is it and how much does it cost?”, asked Gina incredulously, yet petulantly.

“It doesn't cost any money baby.” (To be continued…”)
