Good morning or mid-day or afternoon to you! Can you believe that another year has come and gone? I remember when I was a little girl and I used to wonder, "Why time has to stop now?" It's amazing isn't it? Now, I wish that time would slow it down a bit, just a tiny bit. Tee hee Seriously though, I guess I have always been a deep thinker. I remember that the old folks used to say of me that I was an "old soul." Now that is something to wrap your brain around isn't it? What exactly is an "old soul" anyway? (You ponder that one at your leisure..smile.)
Quip for the Month of January:
It always amazes me how fate offers us all the tools we need, to do what we were always meant to do.
Look back through your life for a bit and see if you don't find that to be true for you as well. Uhm hum, see I told you. But don't let your perusing stop there. What is it that you have always loved to do and were good at? Wouldn't it be wonderful if you had a job, since you have to work anyway, a job that allowed you to do just that? Well, what's stopping you but you? Just a little food for thought, that's all. You do with it what you will.
Me? Well I have always, even as a child, been good at explaining complex things in a simple manner. I remember on one occasion my teacher was trying to explain something to one of my classmates. They just could not get it, so she suggested that I try to explain it to them. I did and they got it! She used me quite a bit that year for peer tutoring. Of course, they didn't call it that back then, but you get my point. Don't you see? I had the intrinsic tools being built into me then to be a teacher. Yep, that is what I ended up doing for a living. But wait, I'm not finished yet. I'm going to try to tie this in a neat bundle for you, if I can. I ended up teaching special education for 15 years and regular education for 15 years. So one teaching career with two parts, special education and regular education. Now that aside, I ended up adopting a daughter who turned out to be "special." The experts said that she would never read. Well, me being good at explaining complex things in a simplified manner, you know it, I taught her to read. We adopted two children, my son is "normal." So the two aspects of teaching that I was good at, I got to utilize in my work and in my home. Here's the point that I was laboring to make: One family with two kids, one special and one not, one career with two parts one special the other not. Coincidence? I think not! Amazing isn't it?
As a child, I also used to be good at writing stories. I entertained my friends with my stories and ended some of them with a question of what happened next. Let me tell you my stories created no small stir in our 4th grade classroom! Now after a successful teaching career, I find myself going back to my childhood pastime activity of writing. This time I write about all sorts of things. But, the most important thing that I write about is HIM. Why do I say that? Well because everything that I do or don't do comes back to HIM. Still having a little trouble seeing what I mean? Alright, let me make it plain. Who made this world? Uhm hum! And who are we traveling through time to meet one day? Uhm hum! So ultimately, all things are about HIM, whether we can see it or not. Now, I can just hear someone saying to themselves, "I don't necessarily agree, for example, if a person sins (no matter what kind it is) that has nothing to do with HIM. Beg to differ, wages of sin is death and gift of GOD is eternal life. Nuf' said?
In short, life is amazing because HE is amazing! I think I will end on that note today. Uhm hum, pretty good job for a new morning in 2015. Yep!
